'Governor's Statement, a Warning Bell for BJP Government' says Poojary

Mangalore: 'Governor's Statement, a Warning Bell for BJP Government', says Janardhan Poojary

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore,  Sep 8:  "Governor H R Bharadhwaj's statement that the law and order situation in the state has vitiated, delivering a blow to harmonious co-existence of people belonging to different religions, and his intention to visit different districts to take stock of the law and order situation there, has sounded a warning bell to the state government headed by the BJP. This also indicates the inertia of the state government in managing the state affairs," commented former union minister B Janardhan Poojary.

Addressing a press conference in the city on Monday September 7, Poojary took umbrage to the comments passed by the home minister and other cabinet ministers, terming the Governor's statement as politically motivated. "The Governor has done his duty. As he has been receiving innumerable complaints about the fact that the minorities are forced to live under constant threat, the Governor has issued this statement, which he is legally entitled and bound to," he added.

Poojary blamed the Sangh Parivar outfits for disrupting communal harmony in the city, by using beef and pork. He accused the state government of being a mute spectator, without doing anything, even when incidents in the city turned to the extent of even taking away lives of human beings.  "The state government has completely failed in its administrative duties," he declared.

He advised the government to stop criticizing the Governor and behaving aggressively with the opposition, if it wants to complete its full term of five years. He asked the government to bring under the control the law and order situation in the state on top priority, and take steps to protect the interests of the minorities and earn their confidence. He also felt that the foreign trip undertaken by Chief Minister Yeddyurappa and his colleagues is just a jolly trip, nothing else. He criticized the ministers for choosing to visit foreign countries at a time when the state is reeling under drought, recalling that he had opposed foreign jaunts by the Congress ministers and mayors in the past, when the threat of drought was looming large on the state.

Former MLA Vijay Kumar Shetty and Congress Party leader M G Hegde were present at the press conference.

Poojary is always right except some of his loose talks. Especially this statement of Pooojary is a warning Bell to BJP. Either they should show the result or they should pack up their bags. Because Poojary might have lost the MP election but congress is very powerful in KARNATAKA AT PRESENT. So let every body stop day dreaming

Mr.Poojary better take rest, you absolutely need some .I really cant understand why congress has still kept useless people like you in the party. Are you still not ashamed with your three defeats and the reason for it was also your big mouth.Dont blame any outfits or party for disrupting communal unrest in the city ,by doing this you think you can take political milage out of it. We are not fools we clearly know all political parties talk on these issues just for their own benefit .

Please you all politicians dont try to gain milage by talking about issues like communal unrest ,blaming any outfits or party instead try to take steps and plans to organise communal harmony in the city .Mr.Poojary instead of doing all these unnecessary press meet try to speak to your people at the center and try to improve the highways , helf farmers in effected areas and do some good work. Please Mr Poojary do some good work atleast for remaining few years of your life.

What Mr. Bharadwaj said was absolutely correct in all angles. Law and order problem in Karnataka state is very clearly visible to any common man in the state. When the BJP govt. came into power in the state its first achievement was attacks on the churches across the state. Defending the attackers by the BJP and its allied parivar was a shame to the Karnataka Govt. Communal and violent speeches and statements are common in Karnataka and no case have been booked against them. Attacks on Muslims and Christians in the name cow transport, love with hindu girls, forceful conversion, etc are very very common in the state especially in the coastal and Malnad districts. All the programs and activies(very communal and harmful for the peace and integrity of the society) are permitted to RSS and its parivar.

The other communities like Christians and Muslims are not permitted to conduct any program. No cases will be booked on the RSS and its hooligan workes and if at all booked only some neglegible sections will be booked. Criminal cases against RSS hooligans were withdrawn without any shame. Udupi MLA and CM Yeddi are suspected behind the murder of their wives. Masjids are desecreted by the communal goondas. Unrest and violence in every places in the state during Ganesha rally. Illegal detention of Muslim youths in the name of suspected terrorism. False cases on Muslims for no mistakes done by them. More and more.... The state needs a rescuer leader like Mr.Bharadwaj. Keep it up...

In the end, we the people of this region should realise that peaceful atmosphere is better than fearful existence. Don’t you think, when a communal violence erupts, there is also fear in Hindus as much as in Muslims & Christians? Boss, life is precious to everyone & all are worried of what is happening in this region. So all the political party should stop the policy of kill & get killed for their party’s benefit instead introduce live & let live doctrine. Hey, the people of Mangalore, Jai ho to you!

If you compare the law & order situation while congress were in rule with the present BJP government, BJP is far better. Congress has no other agenda than critisizing the Government. Yediyurappa''s went to China to invite investments to Karnataka. Instead supporting him, congress leaders started criticizing him. It is nothing but uting ''MADAM KA HUKUM''.

I do not give any weightage to the outbursts of Governor Bharadwaj since this has been the practice of respective governors to act as puppets of ruling central government, whether it is BJP or Congress. Though Bharadwaj is the governor of Karnataka, Congress blood is flowing in his body and naturally he will try to capitalize the negative aspects of the opposition party.

At the same time, it is a fact that law and order situation in the state is at its bottom, unfortunately the majority population may not be feeling the heat of it since they do not belong to the oppressed minority community. I do not think BJP is a failure in Karanataka as commented by many people here. They have achieved their objective, the objective of dividing the society on communal lines. A few communal clashes here and there are not an issue, the issue is, BJP and its mentors have succeeded in tearing the communal fabric of our society. I am not absolving a few rogue minority group’s role in this process, but rogue groups of the majority is mainly responsible for this divide. The worst part is, the government machinery has actively joined hands with the perpetrators of crime and peace loving people of Karnataka are only mute spectators.

The Home Minister of Karnataka has never realized that he is the home minister of Karnataka and he has been working as BJP’s home minister. The intellectual statements Mr.Acharya makes and his actions are as discrete as day and night. He owes his allegiance and accountability to RSS leadership rather than the people of the land. We the civilized and educated people should understand that in the long run we will end up with a catastrophe if we continue like this and no one will be the winner.

The majority or the minority should not fantasize that they can hammer down the other group and can enjoy sustained peace and tranquility. We have Iraq in front of us as an example, if you do not want a life similar to that of Iraq, please wake up from your slumbers. Oppose injustice, irrespective of the source of injustice.

We should not forget that as we sow, so shall we reap. Like someone said...power is Maya...temporary....we have to face GOD and are ALL answerable to GOD alone...and be reborn as some Shudra or gain Mukthi...choice is ours, based on the Karma we do on this temporary Maya filled earth. So, stop cribbing and do good deeds...GOD is always too big to be shaken by such terrorists or communal people or politicians. HE can destroy all evil, wicked people within a blink of the eye. So, stop cribbing wasting precious time and energy and start praying for the punishment of Evil people.

I don''t think there is any law and order problem in state especially after Bharadwaj has come.Even if governor feels so he could have discussed with Chief minister. I heard Mr Acharya is meeting Governor on weekly basis at least he could have discussed with him.

It looks like he is playing mere politics in this case. This is not good for health of the democracy. This is not going to help Congress which is rejected by people of Karnataka.May be he is trying to come closer to High command. Let him introspect his own performance as well few corrupt practices during his tenure as law minister. He is bringing down the honor of Governor office.

This would only help BJP to be more popular in the state. It is unfortunate even small incidents gets blown out of proportion by Media during BJP Regime. They do not give much importance and make government responsible to communal incidence happening in Congress ruled states. I hate these biases..

Dear Shahnawaz, You ask others not to politicize the event while you continue to do the same! I''m not here to sing an appreciation of BJP govt. However, let''s be honest - we have issues with every govt as they are all corrupt. What did Congrss do ? You think the ruling was great under them with no law and order issue? Poojari is simply playing politics. The same goes with Governor. It''s an old trick of Govrnor blaming the state govt when they are from different political parties. Can this Governor say anything against Congress party or ruling? I bet not. Again, my bigger point is - Let''s be honest here.

He has given the Governor post by Madam Soniaji, to keep him away from active politics and keep him sit quite. Better let him follow that!!!Because of these people''s comment BJP is getting more benifit.

Dear readers and especially my dear friend Nagesh maam.... Lets not politicise each and every issue because of our politicial affiliation and bias. Every peace loving bonafide citizen of karnataka and resident of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada would agree that we have law and order problems in our own state and especially in coastal districts. BJP has failed as ruling party to curb the problems and hooligans are free to act.

During BJP''s rule churches were attacked and mandir and masjids were desecrated. Women folks were beaten up in the name of culture and every small incident was given communual color and blown out of proportion. Even the BJP govt failed to solve the mystery of disappearance and death of wife of its own MLA. The Home minister was changing his tone and color as the situation demands. There is no steadfast in their resolutions.

Every communal outfit is operating its agenda without any phobia. One faction is supported by the govt and the other faction is framed and charged and sent to jail, which in the long run shall result in major terrorism. There is no social justice and equality and corruption is everywhere. The mineral wealth of our state is plundered unabetted and highways are destroyed. Lets be true to our conscious and question ourselves are we safe in todays atmosphere in karnataka.

The answer is NO. Party is immaterial, ideology and rule of the law is most important, which we are denied. Thats most unfortunate.
