Puttur, Sep 8: The children, teenagers and the elders alike, made a beeline for the Monti Fest celebrations held at Our Lady, Virgin of the Poor Church in Uppinangady in the taluk, in the early morning today.

After the parishioners went in a procession with the children holding the flowers, the blessed corn was distributed. Parish priest John Vas was the main celebrant at the holy mass. The people, exulting on the occasion of the birth anniversary of their spiritual mother, went home with the blessed corn, to have 'Noven Jevan' at home.
