Bangalore: 'No Differences with Raj Bhavan', asserts Yeddyurappa

Bangalore, Sep 9: Setting to put at rest the speculations that the government and the state Governor are at loggerheads over the issue of maintaining law and order in the state, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa said on Tuesday September 8, that there are no differences of opinion between the two.

In a letter shot off to the government earlier, the Governor, H R Bharadhwaj, had expressed serious reservations about the law and order situation in the state, and had opined that the minorities here have been living under constant apprehensions. He also had inclined to visit different districts to take stock of the law and order situation. The letter had been welcomed by the opposition leaders, while the ministers had decried the Governor’s move in going public with his comments, rather than holding discussions with the government functionaries, if he had any grouses on any issues.

The Chief Minister said that the law and order issue raised in the letter is a closed chapter now. He added, the Governor had told him that the latter does not have any reservations about the functioning style of the government, and had asked the concerned not to take his media statements seriously on the law and order situation.

"Home minister, Dr V S Acharya, has already met the Governor and held discussions in this issue, and no differences whatsoever persist between us," he explained.
