‘Ami Goenkar’ Konkani musical show to rock Kuwait on Feb 21, 2020

Kuwait, Dec 17: Dynamic Goan writer-director Fidelis Fernandes will present ‘Ami Goenkar’, a mega Konkani musical show in 4K ‘Broadway-style’ that will feature a galaxy of stars from all around the globe.

The show produced will be scheduled to be held on February 21, 2020 at the luxurious Khaldiya University auditorium.

Produced under the banner of Goan Overseas Association (G.O.A Maroons), the show will be in aid of Lar de Santa Terezinha Orphanage, Margao.

Mega stars to feature

Mangalorean superstar Ester Noronha, a great entertainer in the Konkan world - singer, dancer, performer and film actress, will be one of the major attractions of the show.

Iconic superstars of Konkani stage booked to entertain are Lawry Travasso, Seby de Divar, Comedian Agostinho Temudo, Comedian Janet, Comedian Domnic, and Comedian Ben Evangelisto.

Popular and upcoming artistes that will also don the stage include Everleigh Mascarenhas, Slenzitta D’Cruz, Elaine Pinto, Frenzie Vito Rodrigues, Princewell Fernandes, Stacey Mesquita & Sheena Gracias.

Kuwait artistes

A select cast of Kuwait-based artistes will also be part of the musical.

Balthazar Pontes, Seby Mascarenhas, Seby D’Silva, Clemmie Almeida, Esparansa, and Gasper Crasto will make the team.

Music, musicians & stage sets

Music for the show will be provided by internationally famed Maestro Joaquim D’Souza who plays flute, piano, soprano saxophone and alto tenor sax), Nolvert Cota (Trumpet), Theo Alvares (Saxophone), and Jack D’Souza (Drums) alongwith Kuwait’s magical maestro – Shahu Almeida, bass guitarist Dennis Gonsalves, Johnny Fernandes (Rhythms).

Cheslee D’Souza will be in charge of stage-sets and sound while the hall management will be arranged by Derick Gomindes.

The event is powered by Celebrate Entertainment.

About the director

The director, Fidelis Fernandes hails from Colva, Salcette, Goa. His last musical in Kuwait was ‘Sath Panvdde’ which also starred a number of mega stars.

Fidelis was president of Konkani Heritage Kuwait (KHK) which has, in the past, presented Konkani tiatrs, one-act play competitions, singing competitions, and Konkani ‘songit sanz’ (musical) shows in Kuwait under his direction.

In 2009, Fidelis was elected president of Kuwait Indian Football Federation (KIFF) and occupied the position for 5 consecutive seasons till June 2014.
