Mangaluru, Dec 20: MLA U T Khader, former MLA Mohiuddin Bava, MLCs B M Farooq and Ivan D’Souza, S M Rasheed and others paid a visit Wenlock hospital mortuary here on Friday, December 20.

The bodies of Jaleel Kudroli (49), a resident of Kanduka and Nausheen Bengre (23), who died in firing during the protest, are kept in the mortuary.

Speaking to media, MLA U T Khader said, "We urge people to maintain peace and co-operate. I also request to lift curfew from 12:15 to 2:15pm for Friday prayers. The funeral of the two people who died ysterday will be held today at 5 pm." 

Former MLA Mohiuddin Bava said, "People who did not destroy any public property and who were protesting were killed. Now there is sense of fear in the society.”

Following the death of two protestors, Mangaluru city is on high alert and entry to the city from all points have been restricted. Police are allowing people to enter only in emergency cases. Police are strictly checking people and vehicles entering the city.

Security has been beefed up in many sensitive areas. Police have warned people not to venture out of their houses. Biker were reportedly caned in some areas.
