Mamata Banerjee announces Rs 5 lac compensation each to Mangaluru police firing victims' families

Daijiworld Media Network - Kolkata

Kolkata, Dec 26: West Bengal chief minister Mamatha Banerjee has announced Rs 5 lac compensation to Jaleel and Nausheen’s families, who lost lives in police open firing, when protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) turned violent in Mangaluru.

Banerjee made this statement while addressing a rally against the CAA at Kolkata.

Banerjee’s statement comes after Karnataka CM B S Yediyurappa, withdrew the ex gratia payment announced for Jaleel and Nausheen’s families.

Yediyurappa declared that the compensation will be released, only after charges prove that Nausheen and Jaleel did not participate in protests and are innocent. The CM’s statement was severely criticized by the opposition and former CM Siddaramaiah called Yediyurappa ‘inhumane’ and ‘cruelly communal’.

The Delhi Wakf Board has also announced a compensation of Rs 5 lac to the families of men who died in protests in Mangaluru and UP.

Boneless tongue can give any number of assurances.Let the compensation first reach these unworthy recipients, than we can decide on the merit of this promise. Politicians are the biggest scoundrels what they talk , they will never implement what they talk. These unworthy promised recipients families can live on the hope of unfulfilled promise

    This clearly means that:
    1. Didi viewed unrest and consequent firing as "anti-BJP" protest.
    2. Is it a coincidence that support is coming from Kerala and West-Bengal, again viewed from anti-BJP" angle.
    3. 1 & 2 also means that NRC and CAA are in the back-seat. These are a front for anti-BJP campaign.
    4. Bring anarchy to BJP stronghold in South by promoting more such protests.
    5. Set a strong foundation for extended period of unrest/anarchy.
I hope the families of the deceased see through this.

Whatever the motive is to offer this compensation does not matter as long as the help goes to the family. It's a good gesture.
