Mangalore, Sep 18:
District Youth Congress Committee staged a protest in front of the deputy commissioner’s office on Thursday September 17 against anti-people administration of BJP state government mired with fake assurances and corruption. The protesters urged the Governor of the state to give proper suggestions to take up pro-people ruling with several development programmes.

Addressing the protestors, Arun Coelho, president, Youth Congress Committee said that the state government had only doled out promises and fulfilled none. Chief Minister B S Yedyurappa and other ministers are full of empty promises. The protestors demanded the state government to step down or undertake ruling by consulting the opposition as well as the experts who support positive development of the state.

He added that the arecanut growers were at the receiving end due to diseases plaguing the arecanut trees. Yet the assurance of providing support price for arecanut is pending despite fall in its price. He also pointed out about the rapid commercialization of government Wenlock hospital and pathetic state of roads including state highways.

The protestors also showed their ire on inept handling of diseases such as swine flu, dengue and such without bringing in any concrete measures to stop its widespread. The government has also not fulfilled assurance of sanctioning a police commissionerate in city by August 15, they added.

Congress leaders Naveen D’Souza, Ivan D’Souza, Harikrishna Bantwal and Mahabala Marla among others were present.

Feel very sad looking at the yuva morcha. Iven D''''''''Souza is become very active now a days, after Janardhan Poojari loosing the election. Iven is preparing himself for the next election. Dreaming of a seat in Congress. I do agree if any thing is wrongly done by the ruling party, we the people should ask them, protest them. But when the Congress party was ruling Karnataka, do you think every thing was perfect.

    1. Center is responsible for the Highway repair,When Congress was ruling in Karnataka. Now as per them state Govt. is responsible(BJP)for the high repair.

    2. One question to the sincere social worker worried of local people''''''''s problem Mr.Iven D''''''''Souza, What action you have taken to stop the Pvt. Express Bus driver''''''''s rude & rash driving, due to that hundreds of poor people losing their life? Why you are not stopping the irritating vacuum horn sounds installed in Express buses even though its banned as per RTO rules. (Since you are the President of Express bus owners union, its not your responsibility. In public you are pointing out others mistakes.) Sine the KSRTC agreed to introduce the local bus service between Udupi - Mangalore & other NH17 routes, Iven is become active protester of BJP rulling. When the Transport Minister Ashok proposed the Govt.Bus services to NH17 route to help the local people, Iven was the first one took objection by saying local Pvt. buses are giving every good service to public, so should not introduce Govt. buses in this route. Coz, his own buses are running in this route. So, cunning people have no right to talk about other''''''''s mistakes.

What do you mean by you see only old men here. look here and you will see plently of them. Better check the eyesight. May be your definition of youth is the goons in other organisations, which unfortunately you will not find here. Even on the developments side, what you see the developments in India today started way back when P V Narasimha Rao was PM and MMS was FM. The IT/BT industry in Karantaka started during SMK time. If these are developments you would not writing on this website May be your definition of development is attacks on chruches, minorities, innocent worem and moral policing, which were never there during congrress regime and have a plenty now. In that way your are correct.

I take strong exception to your comments Brijesh that `there are only old men there`. What did you mean by that? I can see only men in the young and middle age group! In any case, are you discriminating against the elderly? Are the elderly not capable of thinking, protesting and demonstrating? By the way, I don`t think it`s anything to do with the age!? It`s the question of about doing the right things and advocating for the same!

HI NAVEEN/IVAN DSOUZA, IN LAST 60 YEARS CONGRESS RULED OUR COUNTRY & STATE FOR MORE THAN 50 YEARS. THE WORD " DEVELOPMENT" WAS MISSING IN CONGRESS DICTIONARY. ACTUAL DEVELOPMENT STARTED BY MR.ATAL BEHARI VAJPAYEE DURING NDA REGIME THRUOUT THE COUNTRY & BY MR.MODI THRUOUT GUJARATH STATE. NOW IN KARNATAKA DEVELOPMENT IS IN FULL SWING UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF MR.YEDIYURAPPA. YOUTH CONGRESS HAS NOW BECOME OLD & THEY HAVE JOINED TOGETHER FOR TIME PASS.JAI BJP.

BJP Government is doing developments which was not done in the previous 25 Years under the congress rule. developments take place one after the other. BJP Governement came to Power just 1.5 to 2 years Ago. Congress was ruling from many years. this Protest was not at all for a better cause. The main reason behind the protest is JEALOUS.
