Bengaluru: Not opposed to construction of Jesus Christ’s statue - Minister R Ashok

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Dec 30: "We are not opposed to the construction of Jesus Christ’s statue. Let former minister D K Shivakumar do whatever he wishes. But the location of the land needs to be verified," said minister for revenue R Ashok.

Ashok was speaking at the Vidhan Soudha before the cabinet meeting. He further said, "The deputy commissioner (DC) is going to submit a report on Monday or Tuesday with respect to the construction of statue of Jesus at the Kapala hills. The hill falls under the forest department. There is a dam nearby. So we have to verify the land on which the statue is being built. I do not why this project, which was dormant for such a long time, raked up now?"

Responding on the same issue minister C T Ravi said, "When ISCON wanted to build a theme park, D K Shivakumar had harassed them and made the project to stall. But we will not do the same. For us Lord Krishna and Jesus are same. But the revenue minister has already ordered inquiry into the misuse of Gomala (meadow) land. Suitable action will be taken once the report of DC is submitted to the department."

Former minister D K Shivakumar has already laid the foundation stone for the construction of 114 feet tall statue of Jesus on the Kapala hills at Harobele village of Kanakapura taluk on December 25. The status will have steps up to a height of 13 feet, the construction of which is already finished. Harobele village consists 99 per cent Christians. The Christian community of the village had thanked D K Shivakumar and D K Suresh for offering the land for the construction of Jesus' statue.

I appreciate grown up political maturity in the major political party.
The party has thoroughly mastered the art of handling religiously sensitive and tricky issue with focusing their opposition to political opponent than to the religion!
By doing so they have also adhered to the constitutional rights of the citizens!
    Hats off!

By the way is minister Ashok doing us a huge favour by saying "not opposed to construction of statue of Jesus"? It's our fundamental right if we want to.
Whether we really want to construct the statue of Jesus is a separate matter.

You can not build anything even on your own yard if its going to impact the public. You must assess the on social and environmental impact and seek permission from authority.

Boss, taking permissions, permits, approvals etc., is completely a separate issue.
Without these nobody can start any construction even in his/her own compound.
Over here we are only discussing the minister's statement on the subject.

Why we need to build statues ? There are lot of people who are dying for daily food. People need Homes, Schools, Food and Water. These are important things for people and Government should focus on these key things not in building statues.

No Prayers, No Providence from God??

MESSAGE GIVEN BY OUR LADY TO WILLIAM COSTELLIA IN HIS HOME ON 13 JUNE 2019
    MESSAGE NO. 787...

"Have you not noticed in many countries that the rain has stopped – or at least reduced – where water will become scarce, but it will be through prayer and sacrifices that you will be given the necessary water and food, because many countries will die of starvation.”

“Have you not read the Book of Revelation, My sweet children, where great catastrophes and disasters are to occur and enslavement. Punishment will come to the world because mankind have [has] placed aside My Divine Son Who is their only Salvation and Joy and Peace.”

“Pray, My dear children and once again I offer you My Holy Rosary so that the children will acknowledge that this prayer is the most important prayer for the Church – for mankind."

He is saying BJP is not opposed is just a drama.

Wait and see, they will eventually refuse permission saying the land is not proper or something...

Only if they get International pressure, they might accept.

DK Shivkumar’s idea is very good. Imagine all the tourists from within the nation and outside flocking in....

VIVEKANANDAR PRAISES JESUS CHRIST IN GNANADEEPAM:

All of us should worship the Lord Jesus Christ as our God who took the form of a human being. We must have a close relationship with Him to reach Moksha (Heaven). Because He is the only God who is above all gods (sudar7, page270). He forgave those who crucified Him. He bore all our sins. He says “Come unto me, all you that labour and are heavy laden, I will give you rest”. He gives peace to all (sudar2, page372). If a person accepts Jesus Christ as his Lord, his soul is changed. He will become like Jesus Christ, and his life becomes holy (sudar 4, page6Jes

    John, Mangalore/London,
Should I laugh about how you interpreted Sanskrit words? Its all absurdities what you have written.
Just google what is Panchagavya and analyze how absurd is your comment.

As far as I think, Jesus need not to be made great by falsely quoting Sanskrit shlokas. Christianity and Holy Bible has got their own glorious history which does not require any enhancement by false endorsement from other scriptures.

Respecting other's faith is what we need now.

Yes of course, nobody has the right to oppose construction of Statue of Jesus.
We are a secular country and anybody can construct statue of any God or deity they worship. It goes without saying that the required permissions, title to the land etc., should be taken care first.

    Idolatry misunderstood ??

Man's idols are too much addiction to power, money, pleasures, wealth, And Also too much popularity, too much adoring cinestars, sports (stars), materialism, too much believing in one's or others strength, beauty, intelligence, opinions all these worldly things one often worship in excess instead of worshipping God, which are also against 1st commandment of God and not statues ??
