Mangalore: Id Ul-Fitr - Thousands Participate in Namaaz at Idgah Maidan

Mangalore, Sep 21: Eid ul-Fitr, popularly known as ‘Eid’ is being celebrated here on Monday September 21.

On the occasion of Eid that marks the end of the month of ‘Ramadaan’, the fasting month, thousands of people from all over the city and outskirts from all walks of life, gathered at the Idgah Maidan in the city early morning today and took part in namaaz.






































Immediately after the namaaz, people were seen exchanging the festival greetings, ‘Eid Mubarak’, by embracing one another and shaking hands. Muslim brethren visit each other's homes today, to exchange pleasantries, to show their mutual affection and share happiness.

Eid marks the end of a month of fasting, spiritual contemplation, devotion and forgiveness. People celebrate the occasion by wearing new clothes, distributing sweets etc.
