Udupi: N Vishnuvardhana takes charge as superintendent of police

Udupi, Jan 3: N Vishnuvardhana was appointed as Udupi’s new superintendent of police on January 1, took charge on Friday, January 3.

The IPS officer has earlier served as deputy commissioner of police, Administration, Bengaluru city.

He had also served as additional SP of Udupi district earlier.

Vishnuvardhana, a native of Devanahalli in Bengaluru, has pursued his MBA at St Joseph’s College. As an IPS officer, he was first posted as DSP of Virajpet and later Mysuru city. He has served as DCP crime and traffic in Mangaluru, additional SP in Shivamogga, DCP Law and Order Mangaluru, DCP (Admin) Bengaluru.

“I will come out with plans for Udupi, once I discuss with my officers. Udupi is a great city to work. It was a warm feeling when I entered here,” he said speaking to mediapersons.
