Mangaluru, Jan 4: Cybercrime police of the city have sent notice to more than 60 people, on the accusation of posting provocative messages on social media with regards to the violence that took place on December 19 in the city and have asked them to present themselves for inquiry. The police sources have confirmed that stringent action will be taken against those who will not attend the said inquiry in spite of receiving the notice.

These people are accused of sending instigating and insulting messages on religion before and after the violence of December 19. These points have come to light during the police investigation and accordingly, the cybercrime police have sent messages to more than 60 people.

The city police have already taken into custody Moideen Hafeez and Jaldi Siddique in the same issue. Inquiry is being conducted on the other accused. Those who have received notice should attend personally for the inquiry and have to provide proof in case they do not accept the accusation of the police department.

The police have also got information about people quitting groups on social media in order to avoid any trouble from cops in future. In addition, others are sharing the photo of the notice that is sent to people and are alerting their group members to be careful.
