Udupi, Sep 25: A breath-taking snap taken by the city-based photo-journalist, Hemanath Padubidri, has won him national level recognition.

Recently, the sixth All India Photo Competition - 2009 was organized at Kollam, Kerala. The competition was held in four categories. One of the photographs of Hemanath Padubidri, entered in the 'news in pictures' section won him the laurel.

The gripping photograph, taken at a Kambala, was awarded with merit certificate by the panel of judges for the above competition. Hemanath is the only photo-journalist from Karnataka to have won any award at this event this year.

Hemanath has been a regular contributor to Daijiworld since long. He is the second photo journalist from the Daijiworld family to have won accolades during the past few weeks, as Dayananda Kukkaje had won commendation letter in the state level photo compeition in May 2009.
