Mangaluru: Distribution of handbills supporting CAA, NRC - BJP activists, shopkeepers clash

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (EP)

Mangaluru, Jan 8: Shop owners in Thokkottu Smart City commercial complex confronted BJP activists and leaders of Mangaluru block who had arrived to distribute handbills in support of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National registry of Citizens (NRC) there. The shopkeepers shouted ‘Go Back’ slogans against BJP and sent them back from Thokkottu junction on Wednesday evening, January 8. A tense atmosphere prevailed in the vicinity for some time. Ullal and KSRP police arrived at the spot and took the situation under control.

A programme to explain about CAA by distributing handbills at Thokkottu junction at 5 pm was planned by BJP Mangaluru mandala. Block assigned president Chandrahas Pandith House, former president Santhosh Boliar and nearly 50 activists of local leaders had reached Thokkottu Smart City commercial complex after distributing handbills to shops at Thokkottu junction.

The shop owners stopped them at the entrance of the building saying that there is no need to explain CAA as BJP is trying to send Muslims in the country out. “We completely oppose the Act”, they said preventing distribution of pamphlets. There were heated arguments between shops owners and BJP activists. Shop owners shouted ‘Go Back’ slogans against BJP. As people gathered in large number, there was tense atmosphere.

Ullal and KSRP police arrived at the spot and diluted the situation by sending the BJP activists out if the complex.

BJP activits have no right to force their party agenda on others. Police should take strict action on these goondas.

They are trying to create trouble in society. If they agree with CAA none will oppose them, but its not that everyone should follow them.

We are in India and not in africa. We should oppose BJP for their unnecessary propoganda. Let us unite and provide strong resistance. They have no guts to do like this in Kerala, Bangal and Punjab. they are trying it in UP and Karnataka coz Govt is paying them.

This CAA /NRC is like Demonetisation drama and fiasco.

Initially they said DeMon was to curb black money and illegal counterfeit notes. Turns out it neither accomplished the two for the government, and only the 2 gujjubhais: A&A got their black money assets converted into white, besides a few other high net worth gujjus.

Now CAA also has another dark agenda, even though on the face of it, they only say it applies to muslim illegals from neighbouring countries. All bakwas. It is more sinister than that.

So far, Modi & Amit Saha fooled people on congress party and the leaders and mainly on religious sentiments and so many other tactics but now the youth and of India, especially the educated students have realized the facts of BJP government. They are hell bent not to accept the new acts/amendments.
Let us wait and watch the result of New Delhi Assembly elections.

Do not take Delhi as a bench mark. Sheela Dixit has steadily developed the state revenues from 15 years. It is easy for Kejriwal to give subsidies and free goodies when you have fat revenue source developed by his predecessor.
I really wish to see Kejriwal for a second term where the accumulated revenue is depleting by his populist foolish schemes. I think, once the stock revenue is depleted, he might resign and go in the middle if he is elected for the second time.

The policies (NRC/CAA) introduced by central government are unconstitutional.
I trust you are not aware of the consequences which may rise once we accept it.
People have a wrong understanding that NRC & CAA bought to trouble only Muslims but it is not so... Instead it will create problems for all minorities.
The reason they kept muslim community away in CAA is only to play a dirty politics since muslims are the major challenge for them as we are almost 25% of the total population & later on, they will apply the same formula for Sikhs, Christians, Jains & Buddhist etc who are very nominal in % (Hardly 2 to 3 %)
Let me clarify you how this act is unconstitutional & most dangerous.
    1) Since India is a democratic country let them reply why only one community kept a side?
    2) If Hindus are troubled in Bangladesh /Pakistan/Afghanistan, similarly Muslims are troubled in Burma and Nepal; Tamils Hindus are troubles in Srilanka etc why their name was not included.
    3) Voter ID is not a valid – then how they set up the government based on same document voting?
    4) Pan card is not a valid – then why it is linked to pay income tax which is a real huge source of income to run the government?
    5) Aadhaar card is not a valid - then why it is linked to Bank accounts?
    6) Passport is not a valid – we are all recognized outside India as Indians based on only passport?
    7) As per new policy the valid document is birth certificate.
    a) How people can produce their ancestor’s birth certificate?
    b) How is it possible in case people lost documents in flood etc such as Kerala and other states?
    c) What about millions of beggars who doesn’t have any documents
    d) If Muslims comes from Pakistan stating HINDUS & play a conspiracy against the country?
    e) e) BJP; s estimated migration from above 3 countries are almost 3 crore people. How are we giving them employment, shelter etc when we have our own issues?
    f) the people who lived in India for many decades should suffer to provide document?

These people will do not understand the new amendment and are not willing to learn too.
Government is giving opportunities for them to understand the bill so that they will come to know that there is no threat to them.
In spite of them if they want to protest violently and endanger our policemen and properties, Dr. Harsha has the best medicine...tried and tested.
