Mangaluru, Jan 9: The NorthernSky City, a project promoted and developed by NorthernSky Properties, received the ‘well-built multi storey concrete structure award 2019’ at the 13th edition of Awards Nite, held at Milagres Convention Hall on Wednesday, January 8.
The Awards Nite was jointly organised by the Association of Civil Engineers of India (Mangalore Chapter) and cement major UltraTech Cement.
The award was received by NorthernSky Properties Pvt Limited managing director Dheeraj Amin and director Kirtheen Amin.
Managing director of Mangalore Electric Supply Company (MESCOM) Snehal Rayamane IAS was the chief guest who gave away the awards.
Thanking the organisers for considering his project, NorthernSky City for the prestigious award, Dheeraj Amin thanked his team of professionals, who have worked hard and kept the quality quotient high.
The project was Dheeraj Amin’s brainchild and was realised by a team of dedicated engineers and their workforce.

Lifetime achievement was conferred to Dr Babu Narayan, one of the senior-most civil engineers.
Awards were conferred in categories such as ‘well-built concrete structure multi storey building, ‘well-built concrete infrastructure’ and ‘well-built residential villa’. A special category award ‘innovative application of concrete and construction technology’ was also conferred. All these awards were conferred for projects in Chikkamagaluru, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Shivamogga districts.
“These awards are instituted by the ACCE (I) and UltraTech Cement with an objective of encouraging creative competitive spirit in the industry in the four districts of Chikkamagaluru, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Shivamogga,” said Ujwal D’Souza, secretary of ACCE (I), Mangaluru. The awards nite also had a special objective that is to create a positive competitive spirit among the engineers, builders’ contractors and the owners, so that the best of quality and construction practices prevail in the industry.
The highlight of the evening was a special corporate presentation by the Ultra Tech Cement, which featured the latest innovations and quality products of Ultra Tech cement.
National president of the ACCE (I) Dr Ashwath MU, secretary-general Garudadhwajan, treasurer Badrinath Singri, vice president south Tamil Selvan and Jaishankar K from technical services of Ultra Tech cement were the guests of honour.
