Mangalore, Oct 2:
Students of the Mangalore Institute of Fashion Technology (MIFT) displayed historic dresses of various foreign nations in a fashion show ‘Fashion Flash-09’, held at Town Hall on Thursday October 1.

The students walked the ramp in creations that exhibited their skill in designing as well as in modelling. The costumes of Japan, Germany, United States, and Asia, were part of the show.

Men’s and women’s fashions were on display. The dresses with their attractive designs transported the audience to historic eras of the various nations.

“It is a part of their studies for the students. Each student, by studying the ancient style, collects information on the designs used in history and reproduces it”, said M G Hegde, president of the college management.

The show was inaugurated by Narayana Yaji, manager, Karnataka Grameena Vikas Bank. Other cultural programmes were also organized along with the fashion show.
