Mangalore, Oct 4: ‘Mandd Sobhann’ staged its 94th monthly theatre ‘The First Adolf Show,’ at Louisa and Francis Fernandes Stage, Kalaangann, on Sunday October 4.

Initially Mandd Sobhann had planned to stage a musical concert by Goan musician and singer Siddanat Buyavn and his troupe consisting of Akshada Kalavlikar, Sahish Palondikar, and Santosh Lotlikar, as a tribute to the late Goen Shahir Ullas Buyavn, at this venue at 6.30 pm on Sunday.

However, the musical concert had to be cancelled owing to the havoc caused by the recent rains in Uttar Karnataka, as major roads bordering Karnataka and Goa are submerged making it impossible for the troupe to reach the city.

Adolf Jaytilak, who is a leading singer in the city, sang Konkani songs ‘Yore Pavsa Yo’, ‘Tum Ye’, ‘Tuka Chintana’, ‘Tujya Dolyantuli’, ‘Kenna Kenna’, ‘Vollu’, ‘Lovlina’, ‘Harshem Kennai, ‘Bailare Bailare’, ‘Digri Digri’.

Budding singer Vijay Vaz also sang ‘Viola’ and ‘Mujya Moga’. Roshan D’Souza Angelore composed the music.

Although Konkani is not Adolf’s mother tongue, he has brought out his first Konkani album ‘Ye Mana' and selections from this were part of the musical extravaganza.

Adolf will be staging his first show in Dubai on Thursday October 15, which itself speaks volumes of his talent in Konkani singing.

Dance troupe ‘Naach Sobhann’ staged Konkani folk dances on the occasion and kept the audience engrossed.

Comedy troupe ‘Khoroz’, consisting of Nellu Permannur, Alwyn, Abraham Pasha, and Felix, enthralled the audience with their comedy interludes.

Stany Alvares introduced Adolf while Mandd Sobhann Gurkar Eric Ozario compered the programme.
