Mangalore: Allied Health Science Courses Inaugurated at FMMC

Mangalore, Oct 5: Former vice-chancellor of Karnataka State Open University Prof B A Viveka Rai inaugurated the allied health science courses at Fr Muller Medical College (FMMC) on Monday October 5.
 
Speaking after the inauguration Prof Viveka Rai said that the students should be open to adapt to the new syllabus, which is the best way of learning. The students should reach their goal of serving the society without compromising on values. Achieving good academic results and perception of service to the society are a must and goes hand-in-hand in the field of medical and allied sciences, he said.
 

Viveka Rai said that the medical field is a unique one where team work is important. Students need to make good documentation about the cases, effectively communicate and cultivate good qualities along with academic education, he said adding that everyone should aim to become a role model in the field with emphasis on service to humanity.
 
He also said that students should also gain knowledge about the legal aspects while providing treatment to face the challenges in the profession.
 
Fr Patrick Rodrigues, director, Fr Muller Charitable Institutions in his presidential address said that medical students should be a class apart from other students and thus strive to make a difference. The students should put into use their intellectual skills, moral and spiritual values to the fore.
 
Fr Denis D’Sa, administrator of FMMC gave brief introduction of the chief guest Prof B A Viveka Rai. Fr Stany Tauro, administrator, FMMC Hospital and chief medical officer Prof (Dr) Sanjeev Rai were also present.
