Udupi: Pejawar Math to Build Houses for Flood Victims

Udupi, Oct 15 (The Hindu): Vishwesha Tirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Math said on Wednesday that the math would construct 200 houses in the flood-affected villages of north Karnataka at a cost of Rs. 2 crore.

Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, the swamiji said the houses would be constructed at a cost of Rs. 1 lakh each and urged the Government to identify land for the houses. The math had already distributed clothes and foodgrains worth Rs. 6 lakh in the first phase of its rehabilitation programme in north Karnataka, he said.

The math had also set up a gruel centre in one of the villages, he added.

The seer said that he visited Mantralayam and the flood-affected villages in Bellary district.

He said that devotees continued to bring relief material to the math for distribution. He would visit Raichur and Bagalkot districts shortly to distribute the material, the seer said.

Thermal plant

The seer said that a meeting to debate the advantages and disadvantages of having a coal-based thermal power project at Yellur in Udupi district would be held here in November at which experts would participate.

Mr Shahanawaz Kukkikatte, the language you have used to give your views on Swamiji is definitely condemnable. You could have given your message in a more polite and respectable manner. Environmental issues do not come under a specific persons jurisdiction. Everyone has a right to do his job in conserving the environment. I do not see anything wrong in Swamiji's involvement in this regard.

Building 200 houses to the poor is very good gesture and humane. As Vishwesha Tirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Math is a religious leader, I wish and pray whoever build these 200 houses, let these houses be strong as if they themselves are staying in that house. I wish the public in general should contribute more. Ultimately thou u sow , thou u will reap. Good deeds always bear good fruits.

Muslims hold their religious heads and hindus hold their religious head in upper esteem and take it on its face value without analysing the motive behind it. That the reason there is mistrust amongst the communities. I have seen many such incidents where inflamarory speeches and misquotes form religious books have ignited violence and hatred. Who organised samajotsava in mangalore and asked the gatherings to vote for one party and gave inflamatory speech which resulted in communual clashes and stone throwing incidents and law and order breakdown situation. Section 144 had to be clamped. Why you people are trying to blind fold on these happenings and dont want to know the cause. Is it not just hypocrisy?????? Why other swamis are not involved. They are working for all communities and spreading, preaching and practicing love. Swami dont have to preach any organisations political ideologies.. Muslim clegry should teach what Quran says and what he feels....

A good deed is a good deed. I appreciate the initiative taken by the Swamiji, I appreciate him whole heartedly even if his help goes only to Hindus. Let all religious leaders take lead from him to help the devastated people.

Guru, this swami's contribution to the society is devision and promotion of hatred. Can you compare his contribution to the selfless devotion to education and scoeity by the late Admar Swami who is my patron and mentor. I hate any religious head, be it a muslim, christian, hindu or politician who devide people on communual lines. I respect only those who blend hearts, preach and practice love and peace and treat all Indians as one and not as majors or minors or hindus and muslims. I speak blunt and truth, Truth is always bitter and doesnot go down the throat of those who beleive in devide and rule policy. I cant help it and its most unfortunate.

Hi shahnawaz kukkikatte, dubai/udupi you see what swamiji says is correct. Thermal plant in western ghat area should not be there. And your comment entiled "He has the habit of poking his dirty nose in all affairs which doesnt come in his jurisdiction " is condemnable. Because as you give comments to all news starting from relegion, politcis, sports, social events etc whatever publishes in esteemed e-portal Daijiworld. Is it not pocking nose or showing unnecessary interest to the events. This shows your habits of commenting to allevents justifies that you are suffering from cry baby symdrome. Hats of to daijiworld that it published news of hindu swami. A true secular e-portal.
