Mangalore: Two-wheeler Rider Pays with Life for Car Driver’s Drunken Spree

Mangalore, Oct 18: In an unfortunate accident that took place between a car on the way from the city and two-wheeler on the Netravati bridge, Ullal here on Saturday October 17 late night the rider of the two-wheeler fell into the river and drowned. His body was fished out early morning on Sunday October 18 at Bengre about two kilometres from the spot of the accident after intense search operations by fire force personnel.

















  


The deceased has been identified as Abdul Khader, a resident of Malarpadua near Konaje, who owns a medical shop in the city. He was on the way to the city on some personal work along with the pillion rider, Afzal Kenya, a relative of resident of Kenya near Deralakatte in the city ourskirts. Afzal has been admitted to a private hospital and suffered minor injuries.

Ullal police said that it is a case of drunken and negligent driving and the driver of the car is in the police custody.

    Dear Readers, In Mangalore it is very difficult to drive, especially bus drivers who makes your driving miserable. This happened to me near pumpwell circle, I had stopped that bus same time one police  came. Till that time driver was calm, when this man came he started shouting at me & police started asking me take my car & let hhim go. No action taken & driver went off cooly. Driver was not questioned by police niether by any passenger travelling in that bus.

    The driver of the Car should be punished severly. This happens only in India. The Traffic law is very weak. In Gulf or in most of the foreign countries the traffic law is very strict, drinking & driving is a serious offence and no Violators will be spared.
