Woman journalist wears burqa to report Shaheen Bagh news, leads to chaos

Delhi, Feb 5: A woman journalist was escorted out by cops after Shaheen Bagh protesters grew suspicious of her. The protesters who are camping at the anti-CAA protest site were up in arms on Wednesday when the reporter disguised herself in a burqa to shoot the protesters. The reporter identified as Gunja Kapoor was found in the middle of a group of agitated women who began slamming her for wearing a burqa to 'misreport' events of the protest.

The women of Shaheen Bagh found Kapoor's behaviour suspicious after they caught her filming the protest. They caught hold of the reporter and shouted at her, which is when Delhi Police came to her rescue and escorted her out of the site.

Kapoor runs a YouTube channel 'Right Narrative' and is a journalist associated with an online magazine. Her videos amidst the protest in burqa have gone viral on social media.

While she was being taken away by the police officials, a huge crowd was seen raising slogans against her and asking her the reasons for disguising to report the anti-CAA protest which recently has become a flashpoint in the Delhi elections.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police maintained that they were interrogating the journalist.

Shaheen Bagh is at the centre of several controversies over the past several weeks. Women of Shaheen Bagh have been protesting for over 50 days against the Citizenship Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR). Earlier, a gunman opened fire at the protest venue while shouting anti-Muslim slogans.

Shaheen Bagh has also become a poll issue ahead of the crucial Delhi elections due on February 8.

Why are you spreading lies. Except for sudhir choudhury & Deepak Sharma who were pelting lies about the protestors on thier channels are not allowed to enter. This woman who disguised herself as a Muslim woman was caught & allowed to go with the police as no harm done to her. Delhi police within moments released her & in a matter of hours she uploaded a video in her you tube channel accusing the protestors as saying Jinnah wali azaadi & tukde tukde rheotorics. Protestors never said Jinnah wali ever. They said jeene ki azaadi. Tukde tukde never exists when rti was filed to know about the truth. Actually it was coined by sudhir Choudhury of Chee news.
