3 drug peddlers held in Kashmir: Police


Srinagar, Feb 11 (IANS): Three peddlers have been arrested and psychotropic substances seized from them during a drive against drug dealers in Budgam in central Kashmir, police said on Tuesday.

Budgam police arrested Irfan Ahmed Dar of Humhama on the charge of peddling drugs during routine checking on IG Road in Budgam.

During investigation, the involvement of two more persons in peddling was revealed, following which Suhail Yousuf Bhat and Ishfaq Ahmed Sofi, both residents of Humhama, were arrested.

A total of 1,352 tablets of a habit-forming drug and 58 bottles of a cough syrup were seized from them. An FIR was registered against the three at the Budgam police station.
