Deve Gowda, Patila Puttappa Praise Yeddy's Flood Relief Efforts

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Oct 26: Both the former Prime Minister, H D Deve Gowda, and Nadoja awardee, Dr Patil Puttappa, have written to the Chief Minister (CM), B S Yeddyurappa, placing on record their appreciation for the Herculean efforts he has been putting towards providing succour to the flood relief victims of the state.

In separate letters, they have extended support to the Chief Minister for the task undertaken by him towards wiping out the tears of the suffering masses and helping them to start a new life all over again.

Gowda, in his letter dated October 10,  has hailed Yeddyurappa for conducting 'Padayatras' along with his ministerial colleagues, and collecting a sizeable sum of Rs 700 crore for the flood victims. The stand taken by Gowda in the letter is contrary to the criticisms the JDS state unit present, H D Kumaraswami, has been heaping on the CM. Gowda has added that he had written a letter to the Prime Minister, asking him to extend maximum help to the state to tide over the situation.

Veteran journalist, Patil Puttappa, through the letter in question, has asked the political parties to set aside their political concerns and goals, and to stop finding faults with the relief measures. He has asked the Chief Minister to move ahead to mitigate the miseries of the masses, without wasting time on worrying over the criticisms that he might come across in the meantime.  "I am wonder-struck at the way you have been moving around the flood-affected regions, unmindful of your health condition. The responsibility cast upon you is huge. Let me remind you, those who walk or run, stumble; not those who sit aside," he reminded. He felt that the need of the hour for the political parties is to come together like family members and join hands in the relief work.

Puttappa added, that being in his nineties, he does not nurture any personal ambitions. The only ambition he said he nurses is to see the state and its language becoming stronger and prosperous. Puttappa exhorted the Chief Minister not to worry over his critics, not to lose heart, and to move ahead to work for the welfare of the people, wholeheartedly.

one never did like him. But here Deve Gowda’s story might be like that “when Mr. Yeddyurappa went to meet Deve Gowda for collect some donation to relief fund Deva Gowda is a very big KANJUCE MAN & crooked minded person so he has brought a new idea that if I would praise him he would not ask donation who knows his game has succeeded or not. Otherwise no chance to praise him.

Contrary to his son and state JDS president Kumaraswamy`s stand, former PM Deve Gowda has praised CM Yeddyurappa`s effort to provide relief to flood victims of north Karnataka. Nobody denies the fact that CM toured the flood affected area day and night directing the officials to provide relief to the victims.Bringing politics in this matter is uncalled for.
