Panic after smoke in Kolkata Metro train


Kolkata, Feb 15 (IANS): There was panic among passengers of a Dum-Dum-bound Kolkata Metro on Saturday as smoke was seen billowing out of an air-conditioned rake close to the Chandni Chawk station.

The passengers raised an alarm and the train was emptied at the Chandni Chawk station at 1.40 p.m, officials said.

There was no injury or casualty, though train services were disrupted for five minutes.

The rake was sent to the Noapara carshade, while the stranded passengers were put in the next available train.
