Tigress found dead in Jharkhand's Betla park

Ranchi, Feb 16 (IANS): A tigress was found dead at Betla National Park in Jharkhand's Latehar district on Sunday, forest officials said.

According to a forest official, the 14-year-tigress was found dead during patrolling. The park has been closed for the tourists and forest officials have started to investigate the reason of the death.

Forest officials suspect the tigress could have died during fight with buffaloes in the park as some injury marks have been spotted on the body, but it will be the post-mortem that will reveal cause of the death.
