Anand Mahindra praised Indore's cleanliness, Tweeple hail too

New Delhi, Feb 17 (IANS): Mahindra Group's Chairman Anand Mahindra in a series of tweets praised Indore which has been India's cleanest city for three consecutive years now, according to the Swachh Survekshan, annual urban cleanliness survey.

The business tycoon took to his Twitter handle and wrote, "Decades ago, I met my wife while I was making a student film in Indore. The city was then unattractive & dirty.A The city's transformation is miraculous & proves that 'where there's a will, there's a way!' More power to you, Indore; You're my #MondayMotivaton."

He also shared the two pictures of a sabzi mandi (vegetable market) in the city of Indore and caption, "More evidence of how Indore has transformed even the most common -- and usually the most chaotic -- aspect of an Indian town...."

"Such a positive response to my RT. What a transformation it would be if all Sabzi Mandis in India were to follow this pattern. RT & push the municipal corp. in your town to emulate the neat demarcation of the vendors, the use of rangoli, & waste segregation" he added.

In the shared pic, the vegetable market looks surprisingly clean and one can clearly see separate dustbins for wet and dry waste. Along with this, rangolis are drawn around the dustbins for a prim and proper look.

As the post went viral, Tweeple too joined the race, to praise Indore city for their cleanliness initiative.

A user said, "That's why it's called Indore ,even outdoor looks "indoor" in terms of cleanliness."

Another said, "Yes sir i am a resident of indore....i agree indore has transformed a lot....this proves if govt has will they can do miracles."

"Twice Indore declared cleanest city. Why can't other cities adopt its model" asked one user.A post read, "When local public accepts TO change, efforts give 10X results...I have seen how serious they are for Cleanliness...."
