New Delhi, Feb 18 (IANS): A picture of a pink manta ray -- said to be the only one known to mankind -- photographed swimming off the Great Barrier Reef in Australia has gone viral on social media, leaving social media users wonderstruck.

The picture was first shared on Instagram by a user along with a caption: "World's only pink manta called Inspector Clouseau. What an amazing and absolutely unforgettable encounter that was. Stay tuned for more photos to come of this beautiful manta's little adventures at Lady Elliot Island."

The 11-foot male reef manta ray is the only pink specimen of the species known to exist and was first identified in 2015.

A social media user wrote: "Fantastic discovery. Wow, what an incredible manta and a beautiful picture!"
