Tulukoota Bangkok holds 'Bale Kulluga', new office bearers appointed

Bangkok, Feb 25: Tulukoota Bangkok, an association of Tulu speaking people living in Bangkok on February 22 organized an event 'Bale Kulluga' at Indian Hut Restuarant, Suriwong Silom.

Vinaya K Rai welcomed the gathering and explained the importance of communities living in a foreign country especially the Tuluvas living outside their motherland. Vinaya K Rai Vincy Daniel Pinto, Satheesa Shetty, Habibulla Saheb and many other senior members were present and requested the gathering to form a committee.

Naveen Roshan Pinto was elected president, Sharik Hussain was elected vice-president, Suprabha Shetty as secretary, Vinay Shetty as treasurer while Praveen Kumar Dolthatta, Vinol Joy Dsouza are the committee members.

Tulukoota Bangkok was formed three years back and has been very active since the last years trying very hard, though they are a small group of Tulu speaking people in Thailand especially Bangkok to strengthen the community under the motto 'Sarva Dharma Tulunada Bhandavya'. Under Tulukoota Bangkok banner they proudly screened the first-ever 'Girgit' Tulu movie here in Bangkok. They also sponsored Anwitha Alva last year who represented India Muay Thai fight. Anwitha is from Tulunadu. They generously helped Rupert Kiran Baretto's family who lost him due to a sudden cardiac attack in Bangkok.

Naveen Roshan Pinto, the president mentioned the plan to celebrate the next event titled 'Tulu Parba Bangkok' which will be a grand event every year inviting guests, artistes from Tulunadu and three more gatherings every year urging for everyone's support. He also mentioned not to be surprised to celebrate 'International Tulu Sammelana' in Bangkok someday. Winston Lobo and Margaret Tauro compered the entire event conducting several games.
