Maujpur residents stayed united, prevented damages

New Delhi, Feb 26 (IANS): While cases of violence and clashes started to decline on Wednesday, it appears that interiors of riot-hits areas suffered less compared with outer parts.

For example, while the area near Maujpur Badarpur Metro station was among the worst hit, the Kanda Market, just few steps away from the Metro station, and the other interior areas suffered almost no damage.

Speaking to IANS, a Maujpur resident said, "The reason behind less damage is that we stood up for each other and protected our brothers and sisters and their properties."

"It's important for us to stand with each other in such a time, because beyond religious beliefs we have been living here together for years. We have much stronger bonds than differences."
