37 dead, over 200 injured in Delhi violence: Hospital data

New Delhi, Feb 28 (IANS): At least 37 people lost their lives in the worst mayhem that the capital witnessed in decades after a clash between CAA opponents and supporters turned violent on Sunday.

According to the officials, 34 people died in Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital in Dilshad Garden while three other deaths have been reported from Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital.

At the LNJP hospital near Delhi Gate, while one person was brought dead, the remaining two succumbed to injuries during treatment.

"Nine patients have died at the GTB hospital during the treatment while twenty five riot victims were brought dead at the hospital," Medical Superintendent Sunil Kumar said in a statement released by the hospital on Thursday evening.

Kumar also said that the hospital received and treated 215 riot victims since February 2. However now, only 51 patients are currently admitted and receiving treatment at various departments in the hospital.

About the post-mortem of the deceased, Kumar said "the post-mortem exams has been done for 8 more bodies, apart from 4 that was done earlier. All have been handed over to the attendants. Autopsy request for these had come from concerned IO (Investigating Officer)."

When the state unleashes terror against a section of its own people, where will these innocent people go?
Shops have been razed to the ground, houses have been set ablaze and people have been killed, yet not a word of condemnation from either the PM or the HM.

There are reports that this was an organised killing by the ruling party and if this is true, then the people have to really think about the country's future.

People from many religions have lived here for centuries and people from all communities have participated in the freedom struggle and so many of them have laid down their lives for the nation.

How then, can a section of the population be considered alien and targeted? Does this country not belong to them as much as it belongs to you and me? Is our conscience dead that we turn a blind eye to all that is happening?

For God's sake, please think about the country. Don't think you are a BJP supporter or a Congress supporter. Think about all the people living here. We are all human beings first. No God is going to pat you on your back if you don't live in peace and harmony with your neighbour. All those politicians who have supported such mayhem, directly or indirectly, don't deserve to be called human beings. What can this country expect from them?

I dont think RSS would have involved mainly because of this reason.
Reason: Trump was in India. Why would they do something which would hurt their reputation?
Even if they wanted to do, they would have done it after Trump left.

Having said that who could be the reason?
Why Indian's suffer Jaundice in analysing the facts as it is.
Some section of people always wanted to bring Anti-CAA protest into the international level.
Those guys would have worked hard and timed it exactly with Trump's visit.
    Isnt this argument agreeable?
Foolish govt could sense the danger with Trump's arrival.
