No school assembly, biometric attendance: DoE on COVID-19

New Delhi, March 6 (IANS): A day after shutting all the primary schools till March 31 amid coronavirus outbreak, the Directorate of Education (DoE) on Friday directed schools in the national capital to suspend morning assembly as a precautionary measure.

The DoE, in a letter to all the school heads, also advised to avoid biometric attendance of the staff.

"Do not hold school assembly... withhold biometric attendance for staff till further orders," the DoE said.

While the Delhi government has shut all the primary classes in the national capital till March 31, the students of secondary classes and the school staff, both teaching and non-teaching, are asked to attend school.
