Cong says Scindia 'expelled'; BJP corrects, 'he resigned'

New Delhi, March 10 (IANS): Minutes after Jyotiraditya Scindia announced his resignation from the Congress, the grand old party insisted he is being expelled instead.

K.C. Venugopal, General Secretary of the Congress, issued a short statement that read,

"Congress President has approved the expulsion of Sh. Jyotiraditya Scindia from the Indian National Congress with immediate effect for anti-party activities."

However, this statement comes after Scindia tweeting out his resignation letter to Sonia Gandhi dated March 9.

BJP took a sharp dig at the 'expulsion' logic by the Congress. BJP's Amit Malviya asked, "How can you expel a person who has already resigned?"

Earlier, in his resignation to Sonia Gandhi, Scindia cited, "...as you well know, this is a path that has been drawing itself out over the last year," adding that he is "unable" to "serve" people having been a part of the Congress.

He was an white elephant in congress. Except his family name he has not contributed anything substantial to the party since so many years. At least in BJP now he can atleast fake and raise controversies.

A clueless Cong party. What can you expect.? No takers. A leader who was booted out his 5 decade year old family bastion and had to contest is a Muslim dominated constituency to win and survive in politics. The whole world has seen Scindias resignation letter and Papputards have woken up now. Pathetic!

I was always wondering what this young educated and dynamic guy is doing in a party like Congress and playing second fiddle to someone like Kamalnath. Its a big blow to Congress and no one would dare join this party again. Congress is sinking ship without a proper captain leader who leads from from top and good young leaders are leaving the party, as they are unable to come up due to Gandhi family dominance, I feel really sorry for the grand old party being defeated by pro active and over smart BJP leaders and Congress leaders are watching helplessly . All the Cong supporter know is to blame EVM for defeats and the losing candidate is fielding again and again for the next 3-4 decades . It will be very easy for BJP in 2024.

I thought he is matured, no still he is childish. But in BJP he can't be free as in Congress. If a member is not maintaining party ethic, then it will be very difficult for him.
