Fuel prices slashed - Petrol rates cut by Rs 2.69, diesel by Rs 2.33

Daijiworld Media Network - New Delhi (SHP)

New Delhi, Mar 11: With the international crude oil witnessing a free fall, the price of fuel in India saw further decline on Wednesday. The prices of petrol and diesel saw a sharp cut of more than Rs 2. Following the pandemic of coronavirus, the crude oil suffered a major slump in demand.

Petrol has been cut by 2.69, now costs Rs 70.29 per litre. Meanwhile, diesel prices have been reduced by Rs 2.33 at Rs 63.01. The price of international crude oil dropped the most in decades on Sunday. The collapse is attributed to the sinking demand due to coronavirus scare worldwide.

For the first time in eight months on Monday, the petrol prices slipped below Rs 71 mark.

International oil prices crashed close to 31 per cent, the second-largest margin on record, after the disintegration of OPEC+ alliance which caused an all-out price war between Saudi Arabia and Russia.

    34 $ means Rs 2502.32

    2502.32 ÷ 159Ltr = 15.70

And we are getting for Rs 71.00

1 barrel of crude oil cannot be compared with cost of petrol and diesel
Crude oil you mentioned is international market price.it has b transported to Indian shore then refined nd processed in oil refineries. And then transported to your petrol bunks..lots of logistics and conversions are involved boss...it will come around 40 Rs when it comes out of factories.rest to govts..

    140 $ means Rs 9520.00

    9520 ÷ 159Ltr = 59.90

And we are getting for Rs 70.00

Still there were Bundh Road show and many more

The only issue is, the crude price fell 30%. Retail prices reduced by 2 Rs. Retail prices should fall to the tune of 30% too. Government is not reducing in line with international prices when the price falls.

Oil price is just one component in manufacturing petrol, it needs investment (investment runs and depreciation effects), we need to pay labour component, which is increasing day by day, transportation, delivery, taxes, dealers commission etc remain same or increase....its not just that 30% oil is down and petrol will fall 30%....Its coating, people needs to understand.

Most of the components that you mentioned are baked into the final price as a percentage of the base price which is crude oil price. Even if base price of petrol after refining is 30 Rs per liter, 30% is 9 rs. Also, other levies also should fall proportionately. I understand everything in this forum is seen through the lens of congress vs BJP. But as a consumer, we are getting raw deal by both congress and bjp governments and market linked free pricing is just an illusion. Peace.

Crud old price decreased by 30% and fuel price decrease by Rs 2.69 i. e 3.6%. When cude price increases they increase fule price same %. When crude was 120± fuel price was 74+ now whe crud price 35 why the fuel price not come down same as the crude oil price. By the way why we have petroleum minister if its not come under by government. The way u believe is like ur fooling your self.. All big business man take our money kept in bank... Common man will get all the burden. We need some revolution to change this type of politicians who screw our country.
