'Ominous phase' forced BJP to postpone Scindia's induction

New Delhi, March 11 (IANS): The stage was set and decks were cleared for Jyotiraditya Scindia's induction into the BJP at 12.30 p.m., but no leaders turned up at the given time. Sources say the induction has been delayed due to the "Rahu Kal", a phase considered ominous.

On Wednesday afternoon, the BJP media cell sent a message that read, "An Eminent personality will join the BJP in the presence of BJP National President Shri J.P. Nadda today (Wednesday) March 11, 12:30 p.m. at BJP HQ, 6 A, DDU Marg, New Delhi." Whenever, a high profile joining takes place, the BJP media cell refers to them as 'eminent citizens'.

But at 12.30 p.m., with a packed media auditorium, none of the BJP leaders turned up and neither did Scindia. While it was speculated that the Lok Sabha which was in session, to be the reason, soon it too got adjourned. Yet none of the BJP leaders turned up.

Sources in the BJP suggest that the BJP was told later about the Rahu Kal, an ominous phase, that starts at 12.30 p.m. Hence, the party which is very sensitive to such astrological findings, decided to postpone it by an hour and thirty minutes, till the phase was over.

Scindia resigned from the Congress on Tuesday, and is tipped to join the BJP on Wednesday. Earlier on Tuesday, Scindia met Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Late Madhav Rao Scindia had differences with the Congress party for some time. He left it and formed his own party, but did not join the BJP and the sangh whom he termed as evil and dangerous for the country. Therefore it is sad to see his son join what was termed the Evil brigade by his father.
One can understand Jyotiraditya Scindia's problems within the Congress party and his differences with leaders like Kamal Nath, who is also partly responsible for this to happen. However, he could have formed a party of his own in Madhya Pradesh as a local party or he could have joined AAP and help build it in MP or else joined SP or any of the other parties with similar ideology as that of the Congress. That would have earned him a lot of respect.
By joining the BJP he has shocked not just his supporters, but also others who admired him in and out of the Congress. I would say that he has sacrificed his long term political career for short term gains. From now on he will only be known for his betrayal. I don't think he will have any long term future in the BJP.

Jyotiraditya has born with a silver spoon. He had issues with his subordinates for not calling him Maharaja. Just like his ex boss, his only qualification is to be born into a famous family. Just some months back he made a statement saying BJP trying to grab power using back door. I thought India was a democracy, but this is horse trading. People in India literally have zero power even though they vote. That's why I repeat don't be faithful to any party or brand, will not give you anything back in return.
