Kuwait, Mar 11: Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia, Parish of the Holy Family Cathedral has announced that the churches in the country will resume Eucharistic celebrations from March 15.

The church, taking into considerations all the possible precautionary measures, will now resume the shortest Eucharistic celebrations only following the tabulated general guidelines in the Catholic Church except the St Daniel Comboni Parish, Abbasiya, with effect from March 15.

“These guidelines are in the interest of safety and civic obligation. These guidelines will be effectively monitored and re-evaluated from time to time in coordination with the competent civil and ecclesiastical authorities,” stated a press release from Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia.

Earlier, according to a decision taken by the church authorities after the ministry of health of Kuwait government asked people to avoid public gatherings in the wake of fast-spreading Coronavirus, churches in the country were directed to be closed from March 1 to 14. Mass, retreat, prayer meetings, seminars or any other services were cancelled. The catechism classes were also cancelled.
