Bulandshahr (Uttar Pradesh), March 12 (IANS): The CB-CID has arrested Anas Alim for the murder of his father and former BSP MLA Haji Alim.

The former BSP MLA was found dead in mysterious circumstances in his Bulandshahr residence on October 10, 2018.

A pistol was found next to his body, suggesting that the two-time Legislator had committed suicide.

The case had been entrusted to the CB-CID which arrested Anas Alim on Thursday.

Interestingly, at the time his father was found dead, Anas Alim had also voiced the apprehension that someone had murdered his father.

In 2013, Anas and his brother Danish had been arrested for the murder of their stepmother Rehana in Delhi, following a property dispute.

The CB-CID team that arrested Anas refused to comment on the circumstances leading to the murder of the former BSP MLA, but sources said that property dispute was responsible for this murder too.

Haji Alim was elected from Bulandshahr in 2007 and 2012 on a BSP ticket.
