Mangaluru, Mar 12: Regarding the accident that took place on Yeyyadi road connecting to Land Links on Wednesday, March 11, the lawyers involved have issued a clarification.
Earlier, a resident identified as Shuba had alleged that two lawyers and one social worker were involved behind the construction of a compound wall which has given rise to congestion in traffic on the road. She also attributed the wall and the unscientific road design to be the primary reason for the accident.
However, responding to the accusations, the lawyers Ganesh Shenoy and Vijay Kumar clarified saying, "Shubha is needlessly dragging the issue and tarnishing our image for her benefit. She just wants an access road from our land to her residence."
"The accident which occurred is not related to the compound wall we built. The 38-cent land belongs to Dr Madhav Shenoy Konchady and an adjacent land belongs to Varija, who has no problem with our land. Shubha, on the other hand, has expressed interest in the land for her benefit," said one of the lawyers Ganesh Shenoy.
"We have valid documents of the land. Recently, we also constructed identification for the land. We do not have any intentions to cause problems for residents or commuters. The identification mark we undertook as per the survey was on February 17, with the consent of the opposite party as well as police," asserted Shenoy.
Highlighting an accident which took place couple of years ago, Shenoy said, "Two years ago, a woman identified as Uma was grievously injured. She has not recovered from the injury even today. Therefore, it would be wrong to say that the accident which took place on March 11 was because of a compound wall."
