Bengaluru: Fake tweet attributed to minister Sriramulu - Complaint filed

Bengaluru, Mar 13: State health minister B Sriramulu, has filed complaint with the city police commissioner against a tweet issued in is name which he claims to be fake. The tweet had become viral.

The tweet appeared like having been made by Sriramulu in his own style. Sriramulu had issued a clarification on Wednesday itself that the tweet was not made by him. He had said that someone had hacked his account and created this fake tweet.

On Thursday, the minister posted a tweet with a copy of his complaint to prove that the tweet was not his. He said that he has requested the Bengaluru police commissioner to take action against those who are spreading false information in his name. He also has requested through a tweet requesting the people not to spread misinformation about a serious issue like coronavirus and that the need of the hour is to instil confidence by providing accurate information about the disease.

The fake tweet issued in the name of the minster had said that coronavirus can be kept at bay by consuming urine of cows and by smearing cow dung all over the body. The screen shots of this tweet were widely circulated.
