Sanitisers, masks not necessary for healthy people: Kejriwal

New Delhi, March 13 (IANS): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said there are a lot of myths about coronavirus among the people and said masks and sanitisers are not necessary for healthy people in the control of the disease.

Speaking in the Delhi Assembly, he said masks are important only for infected persons.

"There are a lot of myths about coronavirus. It enters our body through the eyes, nose and the mouth. No mask is required for a healthy man. It is required for pollution but not for coronavirus," the Chief Minister said.

He added that sanitisers are also not important.

"Washing hands with soap is sufficient."

He said there is no treatment for it as of now. "Only prevention is the option."

Six people in Delhi have been reported positive.

Meanwhile, the Delhi government has banned mass gatherings and have closed cinema halls, public swimming pools and schools and colleges as a preventive measure.
