Mangaluru: Air India Express flight to Dubai delayed by over four hours

Mangaluru, Mar 15: An Air India Express flight to Dubai that was scheduled to leave on the night of Saturday March 14 was delayed by over four hours.

Passengers who were to fly to Dubai by 8.15 pm Air India Express flight were made to wait for over four hours inside the aircraft as the flight failed to take off even at 12 midnight.


As usual, the boarding process was completed, and the passengers occupied their seats in time. They waited inside the aircraft for two hours without any information. Some of the passengers then complained to Air India Express fight officials. A few of them said that they failed to get a clear response.

When contacted, the Air India officers said that the flight was delayed due to problems relating to the flight. They said that the flight would leave by 1 am.

An airport official confirmed to daijiworld that the flight took off at 1 am, and that the reason for delay was some issue with flight operation.

    When the passengers gets late for even 5minutes they act nonsense but when they (Air India flight ) gets delay no one should question them this is Air India express. I am not saying every time they should consider the delay entry of passengers but, sometime genuine reason and frequent flyers they should consider the delay by looking at the situation .

    It is ridiculous on part of Air India as usual for the delay of departure from Mangalore airport to Dubai by four hours. Why didn't the officials make the passengers wait for such a long time. I had a similar situation some years back when my flight was delayed for more than 24 hours. It was a non-stop flight from New Ark ( New Jersey) to Mumbai. After reaching Mumbai, I missed my flight to Mangalore and I was given hotel accommodation for the overnight stay.

    Dear Jossey,
    At least Air India/ AI Express is one if those airlines which hasn't suspended the operations and are actively involved in bringing back the stranded Indians back to India. Even though the company may be ailing (as per you last legs), we have to salute AI and its employees for what they are doing. Even in its final stages our National Airline is doing a stupendous job. Hats off to Air India. Namaste and Jai Hind.
