Bengal reports first Covid-19 case, UK returnee tests positive


Kolkata, March 17 (IANS): The first confirmed case of coronavirus (Covid-19) was detected in West Bengal on Tuesday with a youth, who had returned from the UK, testing positive for the disease.

The youth has been admitted to the state's referral hospital for infectious diseases, the ID Hospital, Beliaghata.

His family members and driver have been quarantined.

The youth reportedly returned from the UK on March 15 after attending a birthday party there. A number of guests at the party are under the risk of contracting the disease.
