High speed internet to remain suspended in J&K


Srinagar, Mar 18 (IANS): High-speed internet will continue to remain suspended across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir till March 26, a government notification said on Tuesday.

The directions/restrictions contained in the government order on March 4 will continue to remain operative till March 26, the notification issued by Principal Secretary Shaleen Kabra on Tuesday said, adding that the decision has been made in the interest of the sovereignty and integrity of India, the security of the state and for maintaining public order.

After seven months, the ban on internet in J&K was lifted in March 4, and it was restored in a phased manner across the UT. However, high speed internet continues to remain suspended.
