Five juveniles escape from Mathura shelter home


Mathura (UP), Mar 18 (IANS): Five juveniles in the age group of 15-17 years escaped from the government observation home in Mathura on Tuesday night.

One boy reportedly approached a security guard to open the gate to fill two bottles for drinking water for the jailer around 7.30 p.m.

As soon as the guard opened the door, four others who had been hiding behind the gate, pushed the guard down and ran out of the premises.

Mathura SP (city), A.K. Meena, said that two juveniles were from Mathura, two from Aligarh and one from Madhya Pradesh. He said that they had committed various crimes including murder, rape and robbery.

The police official said that CCTV footage is being scanned and all major points in the city including bus stands, railway stations have been alerted about the incident.

The SP said that an FIR would be lodged against the five and they would be arrested soon.
