Coronavirus: Govt increases number of testing sites, list released

New Delhi, Mar 18: With rise in coronavirus cases, the Indian government has launched progressive measures to contain the spread. Meanwhile, the number of testing sites for coronavirus in India has been increased to 63 - 62 Viral Research & Diagnostic Laboratories (VRDLs), and National Centre for Disease Control, Delhi.



This strain of coronavirus does not have readily available test kits, but can be detected after a series of tests are conducted in the hospital.

However, only a specialised labs can test for the virus, particularly the ones which are certified to do so.
