Bengaluru: ‘Misuse of power’, says D K Shivakumar fuming at state government

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Mar 18: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, D K Shivakumar, has lashed at the BJP government in the state, duly charging it of misusing power vested with it.

"We follow our own political strategies. We know how to handle situations. Digvijay Singh is not alone here. I am here to support him. I know how to extend support to him. But I do not want to break law in Karnataka," he explained.

Congress leader, Digvijay Singh, was sitting in protest demonstration near Ramada Hotel here where 21 legislators from Madhya Pradesh are staying, on Wednesday March 18 morning. Shivakumar had accompanied him in this protest. The police arrested Digvijay Singh and took him away to the police station. Digvijay Singh has now announced that he will undertake hunger strike.

Earlier in the day, Digvijay Singh had tweeted, criticising the BJP model of democratic rule. He said that under that rule, legislators cannot speak to the chief minister, and the MLAs cannot speak to their family members. He pointed out that the MLAs also are barred from speaking to the speaker, and that they cannot speak to party leaders. "MLAs can speak only in controlled condition under the watchful eyes of opposition goondas. This they call as democracy," he had ridiculed.

DKS did the same drama when Karnataka MLA's were in Mumbai and got the KPCC chief post now.

I think Diggi is following the same to regain his hold in MP congress.

    Both are good at drama.

    Hypocrisy at its best.

When speaker adjourned the house, due the threat of corona, why this old man Digvijay Singh is roaming here and there. It clearly shows that the decision of MP speaker was arbitrary, malafide and capricious. They can use the writ of Habea Corpus and shouldn't try to invade their privacy of legislatures. Internal rift and fault lines in Congress were the result of the centralisation of power, formation of oligarchy and subversion of intra party democracy in MP.

Congress does not have the right to take high moral ground. It is the lacuna of anti defection policy and the issue of striking balance between tyranny of whip and individual freedom of party legislatures. It warrants urgnet reform to end this chaos.

If you are so worried about the state of the people under BJP why are you sitting there in such a massive group during the COVID Pandemic? You will be harming more people than you can imagine ! Indians need to stand up against such politicians who can go down to any lengths for their own personal gains .

Don't be so funny and hypocrite....
We saw in Karnataka, how Cong and JDS made unholy friendship and captured power...
Then we also saw, they lost all their MP seats to BJP and then government also to BJP....

Do Cong will learn from Karnataka episode or still want to loose more?

Today only i heard so-called word "holy and unholy" in politics.
Did governor gave first change to form BJP government or not after 2018 election result. Did Yedurappa was CM for hours or not?
Quote" Then we also saw, they lost all their MP seats to BJP and then government also to BJP...." Unquote. If you have MP seats then you would buy MLAs from other parties too form government.
Firstly, Is 22 congress MLAs are under Karnataka BJP Government's captivity or not? Is this "holy". Why they are in KarNataka government's captivity. Let them go and resign officially for MLA and party membership.

Whole World is trying best to control COVID-19 and to improve economy but we are busy in destabilizing governments.

Too much restrictions / conditions and even IT raids on Non BJP MLA / MP and their family members will bounce back on BJP / IT Dept and Judges today or tomorrow.

BJP or Congress will not rule India forever.

Congress elders / leaders who were just behind the position and promote only their children's success should be left to rot in this situation (na ghar ka na ghat ka) . They are like cancer cells for congress and to the people of India.

Yes,, says a fan of Amulya Leona Noronha. FYI Indians are distancing away from Cong, Thats why Cong was booted out in 2019, RaGa was kicked out of Amethi . RaGa fled to Wayanad to win in a Muslim majority 'safe' constituency. Scindia left quietly. Ktaka Gone, MP on the way, Rajasthan and Maha next in line.

@Navneet... Yes by bribing money to congress MLA's ...looted through 'Crony Capitalist' of Modi's friends from Indian Banks and that too hard earned money of innocent citizens. Shame on your Chaiwala who is writing off all these monies and now using "Electoral Bonds" throgh Corporates? The one who started is gone the "Jaitley... Aam ka gootley!". All that looted monies will have to be given account one day including the increase in "Petrol and Diesel" prices..

Narendra Kumar, Sour Grapes. The frustration of a nationwide defeat shows, If all this was true.
The Yuvaraja Pappu Khan would have shouted if from the roof tops. Congress would have used it to their maximum to win votes. People for sure would have rejected the Chiawala. The results shows it all. Congress can win only in muslim majority constituencies.
