Haryana closes anganwadi centres


Chandigarh, March 18 (IANS): Haryana Minister of State for Women and Child Development Kamlesh Dhanda on Wednesday said the 'anganwadi' centres across the state will be closed till March 31 to tackle the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

She said the step has been taken keeping in view of safety of the children.

During the vacation, the staff would come to 'anganwadi' centres to perform record maintenance, cleaning and creating awareness about maintaining hygiene through home visits.

Raw ration will be distributed as per the nutritional and financial norms prescribed by the government during this period, the minister added.
