Bengaluru: Karnataka Milk Federation unaffected by coronavirus

Bengaluru, Mar 19: Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) chairman, Balachandra Jarkiholi, said that KMF products have remained unaffected by the upheavals created by Coronavirus elsewhere.

His statement came as a whiff of fresh air at a time when the world is reeling under the ill effects unleashed by coronavirus infection and industries have slumped.

Speaking at a meeting of presidents of 14 district milk producers unions, he promised to take steps to improve milk collection and sales network. He sought support and cooperation of al the district milk unions for the ambitious plans being executed by the KMF to increase its sales network.

"Farmers are the pillars of strength for KMF. To make them financially capable, all the milk unions should continue to pay the price for milk at the current rate. KMF has been giving a good rate for every litre of milk provided by farmers. This will make them financially stronger. KMF has planned to undertake several measures to improve the condition of farmers and help them to become self-reliant," he said and provided details of activities undertaken by KMF.
