Railway staffer sent for check-up


New Delhi, March 19 (IANS): An Indian Railway employee was on Thursday sent for check-up and her office was sanitised after she informed the officials that her relatives with the Italy travel history visited her home.

"Our ticket refund staff, posted at New Delhi railway station, on Thursday informed the officials that few of her relatives with travel history from Italy visited her home recently," Northern Railway spokesperson Deepak Kumar told IANS.

Following the information, we sent her to the railway hospital for check-up and sanitised her office, Kumar said and added, all other people in her office had been asked to be in isolation.

"Her office has not been sealed," he said.

On Thursday, India reported 15 fresh cases of Covid-19, taking the total number of affected persons to 166.

During the day, a 70-year old man from Punjab became the fourth Covid-19 casualty. Earlier, coronavirus claimed one life each in Delhi, Maharashtra and Karnataka.
