MP Speaker accepts resignations of 16 rebel Congress MLAs

Bhopal, Mar 20 (IANS): Hours ahead of the Supreme Court-ordered floor test in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, Speaker N.P. Prajapati on Thursday announced that he had accepted the resignations of 16 rebel Congress MLAs, currently ensconced in a Bengaluru resort.

Prajapati made the announcement in a press conference held near midnight, adding that the notification of the acceptance of the resignations would come soon.

He said that these MLAs had submitted written resignations and they were given two opportunities to appear before him, but did not avail them. Henceforth, he accepted the resignations.

The Speaker had accepted resignations of six other Congress MLAs earlier.

    Look at the world NOT from your position but look at the world from YOUR position. A UK educated, well bread, dynamic,young leader with vision ditches the party. Then there is something wrong with the party. Scindia from a royal family has enough money to buy Madhya Pradesh. So its not money that has lured him. Also note that In the recent Mangalore MCC elections 2 bhaimas, gen hard core Congis contested from BJP. As long as you wantoldies and leaders with lower IQ than Dattatreya Pappu Khan in your grand old party, this is bound to happen.
