Five dead in TN fire cracker unit blast

Chennai, March 20 (IANS): Five persons were killed and seven others injured in the blast that occurred in a fire cracker unit in Tamil Nadu's Virudhunagar district on Friday, said police.

The injured have been admitted to nearby government hospital in Virudhunagar, 520 km from here.

The blast brought down the sheds where the crackers were being made.

The police are investigating the case.
