Kejriwal urges paid leave for employees


New Delhi, March 22 (IANS): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday urged all employers to provide paid leave to workers, including domestic helps, saying it is not only a compassionate gesture but is essential for the economy to survive.

"We are providing 72 lakh people free ration, doubling pensions. In addition to this, I urge all employers to provide paid leave, including to domestic helps. Not only is this a compassionate gesture, it is essential for our economy to survive," the Chief Minister tweeted.

The national capital is going for a lockdown from Monday and the government has asked to provide paid leave to all the workers.
